Since 2002, I’ve been managing large scale IT operations for the enterprise. I do this for a living and love what I do as every day there is something new and exciting to learn.
While mostly in the Microsoft stack (Active Directory + Windows Server + Exchange + Azure) on Hypervisors (Hyper-V / VMWare). I do have a wealth of experience in other systems (Linux, largely the LAMP stack [Linux + Apache + MySQL + PHP]) as well as building and maintaining enterprise class networks, having built and implemented them at multiple multi-nationals and fortune 100/500 companies across Canada.
In my spare time, the web development and Android development community is a big part of my life. Whether teaching myself to code or attending a conference, I find keeping involved helps me stay up to date.
Besides programming I love spending time with friends and family, actively involved in martial arts (primarily Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) or just being somewhere outside disconnected from technology.
I attended both Georgian College and University of Toronto, however I never attained a degree as I found technology movement was outpacing what was taught drastically so I refocused on just ascertaining relevant certifications in my industry.
My job involves doing what I love, architecting and deploying and standing behind massive backend systems.
I spend a lot of time learning new techniques and actively help other people learn as well through a variety of help groups and writing tutorials for my website and blog about advancements in technology, I also often shadow fellow employees to help direct them.
